The book Persepolis is a historical book about the Islamic revolution in Iran, and I like it because it tells the story from the perspective of a little girl who had been through this herself, instead of repeating the story told by the government and newspapers at that time. Majane Satrapi, the author, is an Iranian who stayed in France. Satrapi wrote this story about herself, and this story is all about her childhood memory in Iran. At that time, it was the most unstable time Iran ever had. It was the time that Islamic revolution, the Iran-Iraq war, and the Iran hostage crisis happened. During that time, the world put their attention on how Iran changed, and they were afraid of what would happen tomorrow. "What about the hostage", "How was the war". But no one really care what happened to the common people during those revolutions.
Uncle Anoosh was a communist, who born in a common family in Iran. And what happened was a story, which happened hundreds of time in every country of the world, communist always faces the same environment. But we cannot deny the fact, which make Anoosh a brave, and optimistic man. He just shows up for one section but what makes us always remember is only one sentence” everything will be alright” (Satrapi 65). He is a big change to Majane, Majane thinks he is a hero. He does, he is a hero. At that afternoon he comes in to Majane’s room. As a young girl she does not know what happened and what would happen, and how cruel the world is. She has ever thought cut a human into pieces would look like a broken toy. And does not know when the people, who has been released from the old government would be killed by the new one. What left is only the bread swan and what he always said, "everything will be alright".
She used to think the new government is right, until her uncle Anoosh has been killed, Anoosh was the person who was one of the people she loved the most. However nothing becomes better, Anoosh has been executed by the new government and also as bad as the old one. At the same time, Majane first time feels anger to the god. It’s not so difficult to imagine what she thinks is in great almighty. But he is not, the god only is the thing once happened, and he will allow all the evil and bad happened. When Majane knows that, she shows the anger that she never had “Get out of my life, I will never want to see you Again! Get out” (Satrapi 70)
Anoosh is a hero; he is a brave man even though he is a communist. He is the person fight for the freedom and equality. And he does ever think about the diffunity of every one, even though the truth may not be that good. He makes Majane tries to become him. At least she wants to become the same kind of people who will fight for the freedom against to oppress and tells the truth; the most important thing is always be true to myself.
